3.00 Opening of the exhibition “Dark Night of the Soul”
The works are based on the transformation of contemporary, historical and authentic relationships through a psychomagical philosophical approach – a personal ritual of discovery and creation is performed in pure intuition, searching for the origins of history – the impulse of cosmic creation.
It is an experiment in transcending the dimensions of form, time and space, and striving to find a synthesis between reality and fantasy, history and the eternal. Mythological beings, demigods, relics, mythical texts and fragments of collective dreams are translated into abstract psychogeographic worlds, where everything seemingly known acquires a new existence. The created world is embodied by paintings and figurines, whose visual language resonates in sound installations – the exhibition will be opened with a performance, where musical instruments created in collaboration with Brad Nathanson will be played and a piece created by composer Anna Ķirse, which is made from the author’s voice recordings, will be played. The exhibition objects were created in collaboration with artists Maija Mackus and Nika Edušs. Lighting artist Krišjānis Strazdīts.

9.15 Meeting at the White Pole (contemporary circus performance “The Forest Project”)
The performance is in the form of a nature trail, which the audience is guided through. Along the trail there are various scenes presented to the audience; aereal acrobatics and coreographic climbing amongst the trees, acrobatic movement splashing water around in the shoreline of a lake, dance on the forest bottom, soundscapes inspired by traditional finnish singing and a possibility to share a moment of collective silence listening to the forest around us. For the performance the artists drew inspiration from old Finnish folklore and the stories and beliefs around all the beings and powers of the forest. The duo works with 50 meters of aereal rope suspended between the trees, hair hanging, intimate partnering acrobatics with tree trunks and acrobatics, not forgetting their dark finnish sense of humor.

Linda Leimane “Dialexica” (premiere)
Dialexica (for chamber orchestra, electronics with text and projections) is a counterposition of the 3-phase existential oppositions of human life in word, musical sound and image. “Dialexica” includes at least two meanings – dialectic as the paradoxical contradiction of everything and at the same time integrity and lexicon as a dictionary. A dialectical sequence of words, interacting with the masses of orchestral and electronic sounds, will encompass the listener from all sides of the space and will lead the listener through childhood, maturity and old age in a dilemma monologue. It is a universal story, told as a biography, but without the usual features of narrative syntax – about dramatic dilemmas that a person solves at different stages of his life. This individual path is not connected with personal choices – it is the trivial inevitable or natural process that everyone must experience, the beginning of which is birth and the end point – death.
The visual accompaniment to the composition will be an interactive platform video projection, a kind of abstract sound painting, in which the four audio channels of the composition will play on an oscilloscope. The State Chamber Orchestra Sinfonietta Riga will perform under the direction of conductor Normunds Šnė, authors Linda Leimane (composition, electronics) and Artūrs Punte (text, electronics, projections), voice – Jade Wills.
Platons Buravickis “Aesthetics of Disassembly” (premiere)
A composition for a while orchestra and electronics.
Building and inventing complex structures is not easy, but dismantling what has already been built is not so easy either: it requires certain knowledge, technical equipment and your own aesthetics.
The task, or rather the processuality, of the composition “Aesthetics of Disassembly” is directed from the complex to the simple – from aristocratic sophistication to the oldest layers of the primordial earth’s rocks. From the transcendentality created by modern humanity to the freedom shown by freely flowing lava flows.

14.30 “Can’t Stop”
An interdisciplinary performance that combines puppetry and contemporary dance. A non-verbal performance for adults addresses the topic of a person’s relationship with their body, viewing it in the context of the animator’s (puppet master’s) relationship with the puppet. Using the puppet technique, ways are sought to transform the traditional principles of puppet control. The dancers’ bodies are also transformed, both inheriting the puppet’s properties and becoming the scenography of the performance.
