Residencies

The Sansusī Art Residency Center Susēja, originally created as a space for developing specific works for the Sansusī Festival, has grown into a versatile year-round platform for creative processes. The residency offers workspaces, the inspiring landscapes of Sēlija region, and modest financial support, enabling artists from diverse fields to fully immerse themselves in their practice – conducting research, developing new projects, and experimenting, while also engaging in the exchange of ideas with fellow residents. Artists also have the opportunity to collaborate with the local community, the Aknīste Psychoneurological Hospital, the Health and Social Care Center or the Children and Youth Center.

To date, it has hosted more than 60 artists and continues to be open to projects in various genres of contemporary art – from music and theater to visual arts and interdisciplinary experiments
