Festival

The festival is designed as an artistic adventure. The audience is invited to go to the festival as a unified work of art, not to look for recognizable names and stars after familiarizing themselves with the program

Second weekend of August

From the program to the scenography of the festival territory – the festival is designed as an artistic journey of the senses. Every detail in the festival territory fits into a well-thought-out scenography, where there is no place for commercial billboards or traders that could distract the audience or tire their perception. Thus, visitors are invited to participate in the festival with openness from beginning to end and to discover new works of art without preconceived stereotypes and prejudices. At the festival, all concerts and performances are equally important, so they do not take place at the same time, and there is a break of about an hour between the events of the program, so that the audience can enjoy the aftertaste of the previous artistic experience and internally prepare for the next one. The relaxed atmosphere of the festival encourages the curiosity of the visitors, so we are not afraid to put such a big emphasis on contemporary art. Creating a new generation of viewers. Children and young people are our future audience, so special attention is paid at the festival to creating a high-quality artistic program for children and young people. Promotion of creativity. The festival in Sansusī looks to the future – educating young listeners and supporting today’s most talented artists. We believe that the works created today will be the classics of tomorrow, so in addition to the classic masterpieces, the festival focuses a lot of attention on the compositions of the 20th and 21st centuries. The festival wants to see Latvia not only as a country that consumes culture, but also as a creative country. Therefore, every year the festival commissions new works in the field of both music and performing arts. A space is provided where performing arts workers can realize their talent and ideas.

Susēja

The festival takes place in the Aknīste district, in the yard of the former parish house of Susėja, a no longer existing village, and in the nearby woods and clearings. The distance from here to Riga is about 150 km, but it only takes a couple of minutes to get a smile on your face and lightness on your feet.
