Residencies

The Sansusī Arts Residency Center “Susēja”, originally created as a space for developing artworks within the Sansusī Festival, has evolved into a versatile year-round platform for creative processes. The residency offers working spaces, the inspiring landscape of Sēlija, and modest financial support, enabling artists from various fields to fully dedicate themselves to research, project development, and experimentation, while engaging in the exchange of ideas with other residents.

Artists also have the opportunity to collaborate with the local community, including the Aknīste Psychiatric Hospital, the Health and Social Care Center, and the Children and Youth Center.

To date, the residency has hosted more than 60 artists and continues to welcome projects across a wide range of contemporary art forms – from music and theatre to visual arts and interdisciplinary experimentation.

We invite applications from professional artists and emerging talents from all art fields, both individual artists and groups (up to 6 people).
